Instructions will be given at the project. <p>The MANNA Packs for Kids Program gives students from low-income families food to take home over the weekend. School counselors identify the students in need and discreetly place the bags of food into their backpacks. This program benefits WNC school children who are dependent on free or reduced cost lunch and might otherwise go hungry over the weekend. Volunteers participate by packing food items into backpack-sized parcels that are distributed to local schools. If backpack meal items are not available during a given shift, Hands On volunteers will help MANNA in other pack &amp; sort projects. Volunteers are welcome to bring donated food to contribute to the Manna Packs program. Youth ages 6-15 are welcome to volunteer with adult supervision (infants in backpack/carrier welcome to accompany parent). Ages 16+ welcome.
