Description:
New Choices is an empowerment program for displaced homemakers in need of counseling and assistance in order to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Volunteers assist in cooking a meal for 15-25 women and children attending bi-weekly "Circles of Hope" meetings. Project tasks also include serving the meal and cleaning up the kitchen. Volunteers should dress for kitchen work with closed toe shoes and long hair pulled back. YWCA provides all supplies. Volunteers are welcome to share the meal that they help cook. Youth 13-15 welcome with adult supervision. Ages 16+ welcome. View photos of Meals for Hope volunteers.
