United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County,
provides a link for individuals, families,
corporate, and civic or faith-based groups to volunteer
in support of nonprofits
in Asheville and Buncombe County.

community, Hands On makes it easy to connect
with others who care about the issues that are
important to you.
During 2009, Hands On Asheville-Buncombe helped
connect over 2,900 individuals to more than
667 volunteer opportunities with 145
Asheville/Buncombe County nonprofits. These
volunteers contributed over 11,388 hours over
the course of 2009. Although the value of their time
and talents cannot be truly quantified, the
estimated savings to local nonprofits was over
$229,590!
As Margaret Mead said, "Never doubt that a small
group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever
has."
